Profiles of the Massif members in order of appearance, roughly.

Sam

The founder of the club, his infectious enthusiasm for early morning starts scared many away; partial to a bowl of makeoli for breakfast and after the hike, pajon and dong dong ju.

                  Monica

Accompanied Sam on many of the earlier trips; Sobaeksan was nearly a step too far though.

Alan

Has taken over the mantle of organiser in Sam's absence.

                                        Louise

The geologist was a regular until the dreaded Cheonan dodgy knee curse afflicted her.

James

The Kia limo has been put to good use chauffeuring Massif members to locations across the length and breadth of Korea. Nearly came a cropper on the way to the bus stop after Chiakan though. Famously chased a cute Korean girl down Songnisan once.

                                        Simon

The bird watcher of the group, the intrepid guitarist spots anything and everything of note. Once led a Massive group astray on Taejosan. After promising to come hiking for ages, he finally took the plunge on Songnisan, but missed the bus there as well.

Zack

Famous for his UFO sighting on Jirisan, may well have been hallucinating by that stage however. Stocked up well for the night hike with a nourishing packet of Pringles.

                                       Eunhan

Surprised many by her gazelle like appearance on Magoksan; after two hours sleep the previous night, proving it can be done.

Anna

Famously pursued a Massif member up and down Magoksan, her Sunday morning church duties prevent her from pestering Simon more often.

                                          David

The Milwaukee member of the Massif came along for the first time at Magoksan.

Clare

Made her debut on Gwangdoksa, and also survived a tough assignment at Songnisan.

                                        Dave

The Scouser also made his debut on Gwangoksa,

Brett

Another to make his debut on Gwangdoksa, hasn't been seen since.

                                          Matt

A rare recent showing at Sobaeksan showed the now non-smoking Bristol bulldozer has plenty of life in the old legs yet. Lately affected by a touch of colic, ruling him out of the Daedunsan trip. Good stayer, dislikes the early mornings though. Plenty in the tank when required.

Sarah

Made a rare welcome appearance on the trip to Gwangdoksa, but injured her groin apparently. Another one for whom the early starts are an excuse for not coming more often.

                 Brooke

Brave decision to make her first outing with the Massif the long and arduous Sobaeksan.

Alanowski

Took seven long months for the Jiggler to make his debut with the Massif. Soju sessions lasting well into Sunday evening and frequent trips to Seoul have had a detrimental impact on his ability to turn up for Sunday morning starts.
